EUDCA Feedback EU Cloud and AI Development Act

The European Data Centre Association (EUDCA) welcomes the ambition of the Cloud and AI Development Act to address the critical gap in Europe’s computational capacity. As the representative voice of European and global data centre operators, the EUDCA strongly supports the EU’s objectives presented in the AI Continent Action Plan, including the goal to triple data centre capacity by 2030 and advance research and innovation.

Our state-of-the-art facilities not only fuel innovation but also safeguard data sovereignty, providing essential support for cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence. Beyond the technological significance, the industry profoundly impacts Europe’s socioeconomic fabric. As our 2025 State of European Data Centres Report outlines, colocation data centres contributed €30 billion to GDP in 2023, with projections soaring to €83.8 billion by 2030.
