Formally approved by the EUDCA General Assembly in June 2026 for the remainder of the current Board, these appointments reflect the Association’s continued commitment to bringing deep industry expertise to its leadership as the European data centre sector navigates a period of significant growth and increasing complexity.

Eulalia Flo has been appointed Vice President of the EUDCA Board, bringing deep expertise in digital infrastructure, sustainability and public affairs to the association’s leadership team. With extensive experience representing the sector at both European and international level, Eulalia has been a strong advocate for policies that support innovation, resilience and sustainable growth across Europe’s data centre industry. Her appointment reflects EUDCA’s continued focus on strengthening Europe’s digital future through collaboration and responsible development.

Eulalia Flo, Vice President of the EUDCA Board, said:Data centres are essential to Europe’s competitiveness, technological leadership and ambitions. It is a privilege to take on the role of Vice President at such a pivotal time for Europe’s digital infrastructure sector as the EU seeks to triple data centre capacity and increase our competitiveness. I look forward to working closely with the Board and our members to help drive a resilient, innovative and future-ready digital ecosystem across Europe.”

François Sterin is a recognised figure in European technology and digital infrastructure circles, with a career spanning senior leadership roles across hyperscalers and cloud providers. With over 20 years of experience deploying digital infrastructure and networks, François brings a strategic perspective on how data centres sit at the heart of Europe’s technological independence and competitiveness. His expertise in bridging technology and industrial strategy makes him a strong addition to the EUDCA Board as the Association continues to engage with legislators and regulators on the critical issues facing the sector.

François Sterin Vice President of the EUDCA Board comments: “Data centres are at the core of European digital infrastructure, innovation and security, and I believe deeply that how it is built, powered and governed will define Europe’s place in the global digital economy. I am honoured to join the EUDCA Board and to work alongside such a distinguished group of industry leaders. Together, we have a real opportunity to shape policy, drive sustainable growth, and ensure that Europe’s digital infrastructure is resilient, competitive and fit for the future. I very much look forward to contributing to the important work already underway.”

Emma Fryer has extensive experience in policy, sustainability and digital infrastructure. A highly respected voice across the data centre and energy sectors, Emma has played a leading role in shaping industry dialogue around resilience, efficiency, and Europe's digital future, including helping to demystify the sector for policymakers, communities and businesses outside it. Her appointment further strengthens EUDCA's commitment to supporting a competitive, sustainable and sovereign digital infrastructure landscape across Europe.

Emma Fryer, EUDCA Board Member, said: "I am pleased to join the EUDCA Board at such an important moment for Europe's digital infrastructure sector. Data centres are central to Europe's competitiveness, resilience and sustainability ambitions — but realising that potential depends on the industry earning genuine trust and demonstrating its value to the communities and economies it operates within. I look forward to working with fellow Board members to help ensure the industry continues to build that social contract and deliver long-term value for society."

Peter Domeney brings a unique combination of experience spanning digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing and electrification. Having held senior leadership positions across a range of infrastructure-intensive industries, he offers valuable insight into the operational, energy and investment challenges associated with scaling critical infrastructure. His cross-sector expertise will be a strong asset to the EUDCA Board as Europe continues to expand its digital capacity.

Peter Domeney said: “The EUDCA plays an important role in representing a sector that underpins Europe’s digital economy. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work with the Board and members to support the industry’s continued development and long-term resilience.”

Thierry Chamayou brings more than two decades of experience in digital infrastructure to the EUDCA Board. Throughout his career, he has witnessed the rapid evolution of the industry and the growing influence of energy-related challenges on data centre development. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to accelerate across Europe, constraints around power availability, grid connectivity and permitting timelines are increasingly shaping investment decisions and determining what can be delivered, and when. Thierry’s extensive industry expertise and strategic perspective will be a valuable asset to the Association’s policy and advocacy efforts.

Thierry Chamayou commented: "I am delighted to join the EUDCA Board at such an important moment for our industry. Having worked in digital infrastructure for more than twenty years, I have seen first-hand how the sector has transformed and how access to power and grid capacity has become a defining factor in data centre development. The EUDCA plays a critical role in ensuring the industry's voice is heard at a European level, helping to create the conditions needed for sustainable growth and long-term investment. I look forward to contributing to this important work and building on the strong foundations established by my predecessor, Matthew Baynes."

Michael Winterson, Secretary General, EUDCA, said: “The five new appointments bring extensive insight and experience to the EUDCA Board at a significant moment for the European data centre sector. As demand for digital infrastructure continues to grow, their expertise will strengthen the association’s work in supporting a sustainable, resilient and competitive industry. We are delighted to welcome them to the Board and look forward to working together to help shape the future of Europe’s digital economy.”

The EUDCA extends its sincere thanks to the outgoing Board representatives for their service and valuable contributions to the Association. Their leadership and expertise have played an important role in advancing the interests of Europe's data centre sector.

EUDCA publishes second annual State of European Data Centres report

The EUDCA has released its second annual report, ‘State of European Data Centres 2026’, building on the foundations of last year’s inaugural edition. A comprehensive survey of Europe’s data centre landscape, it provides an in-depth, data-driven understanding of the market: mapping its rapid expansion, examining the structural forces reshaping it, and addressing the challenges that must be overcome to sustain long-term growth. The report affirms that data centres have evolved from digital real estate into strategic infrastructure which is central to Europe’s economic competitiveness, digital sovereignty and the continent’s AI ambitions. It highlights record levels of investment, the growing geographic distribution of capacity beyond traditional hubs, and the sector’s continued progress on energy efficiency and sustainability, even as power availability emerges as the single most significant constraint on future development.

The full report is available to download now and is essential reading for anyone operating in or engaging with Europe's data centre sector.
